  • Vinyl is in NEAR MINT CONDITION!!!!! However, there is a scratch a small scratch on side 1 and one on side 2. Neither appears deep enough to cause any skipping, but could be barely audible during playback. It's been over 20 years since the record has been played ...

  • Catalog Number: PL9-04
  • Etched on side one "PL-904-A", "8-84", and a small oval stamp with "EDP". Side two has "PL-904-B-1", "8-84", and the same oval stamp from side one (see pic above).
  • This is one of the first 5,000 (based on the date and logo description) pressings made! Check out the info from MisfitsCentral.com below.

Initium is the 1984 debut album of Samhain, released on lead singer Glenn Danzig's independent record label, Plan 9. In various interviews Danzig states that the album's title, which translates from Latin to English as "beginning", represents his new start after disbanding his prior band, The Misfits, in 1983. Most of the final track, "Archangel", was actually recorded in March 1981, and was originally meant to be a Misfits song. The track Horror Biz likewise dates to Danzig's Misfits era, as it is a new version of "Horror Business" with different musical arrangements. The album was recorded at Reel Platinum studio in Lodi, New Jersey, excluding the introduction which was recorded at Eerie Von's home on a four track cassette.[1]

Also appearing on this recording are Lyle Preslar, guitarist for the influential D.C. band Minor Threat (CD tracks 2, 4, 6, and 7), and Al Pike, bassist for Reagan Youth, (CD track 9). ~ from Wiki

So, for all the Misfits, Samhain, Danzig, Balzac, AFI, punk and Metallica fans, here it is. It's not one of the colored vinyl versions, but it IS part of the first pressing. This is the stuff that I hate to sell (even though I have no way of playing it now) ...

Please check the images carefully! The record is in Very Good condition (that's my reflection on the pic of the record, not a scratch!). Serious bidders only! Like the other vinyl I have listed, it is a collector's item.

Shipping: Your record will be shipped in a plastic sleeve and protective cardboard! Insurance can also be added for $3 (covers up to $100), but please contact me and wait for the invoice if you want it! JUST LET ME KNOW WHETHER YOU WANT INSURANCE!!!!

I have other records already listed and will be posting some more old stuff.

**** PLEASE ADD $5 TO THE SHIPPING CHARGE!!! THE RECORDS ARE COSTING MORE TO SHIP DUE TO THE PACKAGING AND I CAN NOT CHANGE THE AMOUNT THAT APPEARS!!! REMEMBER, ADD $5 TO YOUR TOTAL!! Sorry folks, but shipping priority for $4 is a joke. ****
