Description
This 45 RPM record is a must for any dedicated Sammy Hagar fan and collector. It is possibly his first-ever recording, made around 1970, years before he released any solo recordings under his name only. The artist name is shown as “Samson & Hagar”, and the writer’s credits in parentheses notes “Sam Hagar”. I could only find one reference to it on the internet- a copy sold several years ago on eBay.
It came out of a box of unplayed promo 45s that I found. Most likely it has never been touched by a needle, so is in perfect condition! I have found the recording noted on a Ranwood 45 discography, where it is a legitimate entry in the 800 series of Ranwood singles releases.
Don’t expect it to sound like any later recording of Sammy Hagar; it is more like a pop song… not with his trademark vocal style from the 1970s on up.
The label is perfect on both sides, with no writing or stickers. The label sleeve is in great shape: undamaged and unstained. Colors are rich and unfaded. A clear poly sleeve is included.
