◆"Samurai Champloo" was aired on TV in 2004. This work, directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, is a truly ``champuru'' combination of period drama and hip hop elements. Its innovative visuals and music captivated not only anime fans but also hip hop freaks. It was a groundbreaking work at the time and is still highly acclaimed not only in Japan but also overseas.
◆The artists selected for this work by director Watanabe, who is known for his deep knowledge of music, are: He rocked the scene with his lo-fi Hip Hop and later gained many followers both domestically and internationally. Rare track maker Nujabes, He has been active with Five Deez since the 2000s, and has released solo albums produced by Nujabes.・fat jon, He has also worked on remixes for numerous artists, and has established himself as a top runner in the domestic and international club scene. FORCE OF NATURE, a unit by KZA and DJ KENT, As the track maker of SHAKKAZOMBIE, he has continued to lead the Japanese Hip Hop scene since its early days. ・Tsutchie.
