PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. SCARCE 1969 UNDERGROUND ROCK ORIGINAL
With Controversial "Nude" Cover
LOUISE FORESTIER
\ CANADA - GAMMA Records -GS 121
RARE TOP COPY
...ORIGINAL 1969 first release by an interesting female singer who is backed by a formidable progressive crew from Canada...housed in a highly controversial cover in that Louise Forestier is posed topless -- quite a bold move for 1969...and as for this very obscure album ...Louise seems to have been omnipresent on the local psych scene in Montreal in the late 60's/early 70's, despite the fact that her primary output was folkrock, this particular first album being the lone exception. Though still strongly folk driven, there is a solid psychedelic flavor throughout the album that is quite uncharacteristic of the rest of her albums and is backed by an electric group photographed on the back cover...The album starts out innocently, as we hear a song la douce emma with piano reminiscent of French songs of the 1950s (think of Edith Piaf) ... With this you may think the style will occupy for a while, but -- surprise -- it turns into acid rock psychedelic with drifting electric guitar riffing that shocks the listener, in the song "From Santa to America."
Then things calm down a bit (talking in terms of volume/noise) in "Quand t'es Pas La" a more organ based sound amid slight electric guitars without distortion, and some times with flourishes. Also, wind and echo effects are present. Arriving at the fourth track -- "Translation" -- one of the best on the album, starts calmly with piano and echo atmosphere that seems to have a certain air of Pink Floyd '69-'70 era. All of this will grow in volume and tension (she sings louder...) The song seems a little experimental, the keyboard almost hammered to the growing volume in the vocals, and ends in a soft cry, which disappears quickly in the echo. "J't'aime en Masse" seems to have a certain air of medieval utilizing large metal drums percussion, and a hint of '70s West Coast rock. Some weird distorted guitar in the background. "Comment Comment?" is more of a normal rock sound with piano and guitar... "Le Cantica du Titanic" has a nice clarity of voice, keyboard, cello including grandiose orchestral drums and cymbals. "Le Mont Athos" -- the last song -- is a relief, because it is more accessible based on voice, keys and drums.A:
