Description
The vast majority of Bill Haley & The Saddlemen releases are seen on the Essex Label, but very rarely on the Holiday label. Holiday existed for a brief period of time before Essex Records was formed. Haley recorded only 5 disks for Holiday. Jukebox Cannonball is one of these. It is a train song takeoff of the famous Wabash Cannonball and perhaps the lesser-known Pan American by Hank Williams (considered a major influence in many of Haley's early works by his own testimony).
Flip side is Sundown Boogie. Both sides can be found in mp3 format on various Internet sites if you are unfamiliar with them.
Condition is Good to Very Good. Nominal wear. Scuffs, smudges and minor scratches. No chips or cracks.
A quick search of EBay past sales should prove to you that any Haley issue on Holiday is a rare find. Likewise for other record sale and collector sites. Circulation of these low quantity Holiday issues was largely confined to the Philadelphia area prior to Haley's explosion onto the national music scene two years later. The five coveted Holiday Haley discs rarely leave collector's hands, and seldom come to market.
