“English rock music played with style and grace” was the way one reviewer described this LP upon hearing it in 1978
Scarecrow were formed from the ashes of 60’s Psych/Prog band “Information” and had become regulars on the London pub circuit by the mid 70’s. They played well over 300 gigs in one year, mostly around London which helped them hone a solid rhythm section, twin/harmony guitars, plus lead guitar/vocals, all underpinned by solid rhythm/melody guitar, stood them apart from the turgid rock melee.
By 1977 they had acquired a cult following and although they had recorded a few tracks, nothing had been committed to vinyl.
In early 1978 there was a suggestion to make, record and release a live LP. They borrowed some money and Gordon Giltrap's sound engineer who then recorded 2 gigs at the August Bank Holiday 1978 on a Revox 77, a stereo reel-to-reel tape recorder running at 15ips which became this, their one and only LP. The 45 minute LP featuring six original songs culled from the groups 50+ song repertoire was released on the 'Spilt Milk' label just before Christmas 1978. In it’s original format (of which this is) the record was in a wrap-around sleeve as a limited numbered pressing of 1000 (this copy is number 0487)

CONDITION
Disc: VERY GOOD
Clean & glossy with no significant visual faults. The album plays with a little light vinyl background during some of the quieter passages and a couple of light clicks on the start of track 2 on side 2. My stylus stuck twice on track 3 of side 1 but this may not occur on your system.
Cover: GOOD
Fully intact but with toning around the edges and general age marks to the paper. There are also some handling marks to the rear but no writing or tears anywhere
