Description

Schuricht Beethoven Symph 9 Orig UK HMV LPs 1959
Beethoven Symph No 9 in D min. Symph no. 5 in C min. Lipp, Hoffgen, Dickie, Frick. Paris Conservatoire Orch - Schuricht HMV XLP 2001-2 orig UK EMI pressed 2 LPs. No other UK release for this issue. It was never released on the ALP series - why? who knows. It is certainly a very powerful performance withexcellent recording. Sometimes there were politics at play at the record companies - perhaps a more favoured artist had a ninth symphony in the pipeline and had to be given a free run. In Ex condition with very few very light surface only marks. Quite lightly played and a great sound. Sleeves are in VG condition - light staining at back.
