Description
Greetings! Up for grabs we have a nice, decent copy of the Scotty McKay quintet's 1968 single 'The Train Kept A-Rollin' b/w 'The Theme From the Black Cat' (credited to Scotty McKay's Bolero Band). This well-known and oft-comped 45 (Falcon 101) is a Texas garage/psych fuzz monster that builds on the Yardbirds' version of a few years prior and takes it to the next level - legend has it that the man behind the incendiary lead guitar breaks was none other than Jimmy Page himself. Whether this is true or not is open for speculation, but nobody can argue that the A-side of this record is a killer by way of lethal amounts of fuzz!
As for the condition of the record, I would give it a VG - it looks and plays well. If the grade were based on the B-side only I would give it a VG+, but the top side has received liberal amounts of play - there is visible needle wear on that side, and a slight amount of ring wear. That said, both sides play with no skips or pops whatsoever, and a minimal amount of surface noise. The record will be shipped in its original plain brown sleeve inside a new plastic bag, and will be packed well so as to eliminate the possibility of damage.
