Scrotum Poles EP Revelation EP 1980 Complete, disc, cover, insert. 500copies

	£ 141
	$		187

Incredibly rare 7 inch - this is the complete thing - disc, sleeve, insert. SP were from Dundee and this is their limited edition contribution to Punk History - 500 copies I think. All with handwritten labels! Home made low tech insert

Not mint but it will be very hard to find better.

I am not a record dealer so I'm not attempting to describe it in dealer language!

Instead here are the blemishes

Disc - small sticker mark pic 5. Disc itself is very clean and looks hardly played. I will listen carefully and report quality. Handwritten labels

Cover - Web research tells me the cover was an after thought and while the back is full size the front is shorter and allows disc to stick out top!

Back -  left foldover seem sticks up a little and is faded. Top right corner folded a bit. Shape of record visible top right. Small patches of discolouration and marks too small to describe!

Front - slight marks, bottom left fold,  vertical crease right side

Insert - folded into 4 and as mint as you could expect to find - no vomit, stains, tears! 2 sided hand duplicated thing. Print is feint but that's how the technology was!

Please enlarge all photos. As said before not mint but probably as good as you will find.....you only have another 499 to compare it to but try finding another!

No returns on this. There may be other defects not described - this is 35 yrs old!

This will be sent insured, signed for. Will cost more for overseas. Any change on postage / insurance will be refunded

There is a reserve

If you are bidding from overseas (Paypal and 5 + feedback please) make a low test bid and if there are problems let me know. Thanks. Overseas sales completely at buyers risk. Sorry stuff goes missing!

Audio  / Visual Report

This plays at 33.3 rpm. Visually the record is very very good. There are no significant spindle marks  on either side indicating little play time. In fact the spindle hole still  has a stray paper strand.

Side 1 has a manufacturing flaw visible on the label. See photo. There are photos on net of some records having a sticker so this explains the removed sticker mark.

The record has a very gentle warp  but tracked perfectly at 1.25 gram using a Shure v15mk3. A couple of very minor lead in fingerprints. Visually the record is excellent

Noise levels are very low - there are some crackles on both sides run ins and between tracks. Nothing horrendous. There are no  naked eye visible scratches. "Crackles / Pops" during play are minimal without any cleaning but there was a little dust from inside sleeve.

Inscription's on side 1 run off say "Erect 1 BI*  "Burt is a Spaceman" "A Porky Prime Cut".

On side 2 as side 1 but  Burt is replaced with  "We Hate DCs"

Pressing Quantity

From what I can gather on net there may have been 500 -  possibly 700 in this original sleeve, some of these were hand written labels and some hand stamped.

Later versions - maybe 300 appeared in a yellow sleeve and may /  may not have the insert. It may depend on how early the record was bought.

So maybe the first figure quoted of 500 is correct for this version. At least I have tried to figure it all out!  Make up your own mind!

This is "mild punk" by any standards but a nice bit of Scottish Band History
