SOMEONE TO CARE 3:30 First of all, I'm glad to report the Happy Waymakers are all Christians, and their main goal is to win souls to Christ that they may enjoy this same happy life as they do. This is one of the few singing groups that haven't gone so modern and polished that they have left out Christ. They still put him first in their singing; if you purchase this album you'll see. I have known Bro. Howard Helton, also his wife Louise, and their three beautiful children - Teresa almost 18, who is playing (Amazing Crace) on the record, Sonny 16, and Tammy 3 - for many years. They all help as Sonny plays guitar with the group. Louise also plays guitar on occasions and Howard plays the bass and is an evangelist. Little Tammy sings sometimes. They preached and sang on our local radio station for years and were loyal church workers here in Lawrenceville, Ga., before moving to Sevierville, Tenn. At that time our daughter, Yvonne, played piano for them as they appeared at radio stations, singings, prisons, old folks homes, etc. all over the southeast. After they moved, they met Bro. Bobby Patterson, a dedicated Christian who wrote the song on this album entitled "Walking in the Fooststep of my Lord". He now plays the piano with them and also sings. He has a wonderful personality. Later Bro. Wayne Graves was saved and he found playing the bass for the Happy Waymakers is what the Lord wanted him to do. I could feel the sweet spirit of the Lord as we prayed for God's blessings on this album. Only a- bout three or four times in twenty years of recording have my eyes been so filled with tears. I could hardly see the controls when Sister Louise sang "The Third Man". If you invite these singers to your community they will remind you of campmeeting days - Preaching, Praying, Singing, and Shouting.
