Description
Sex Pistols Anarchy In The UK/ I Wanna Be Me (UK EMI 2566 Dave Goodman production credit) Signed By Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook AND Malcolm McLaren.
This is an almost mint condition copy Anarchy In The UK from 1976. The story behind this record is it is one of five singles that were signed by the band that were to be given to Sounds music paper as competition prizes in early 1977 when the band had returned from Holland after playing a number of shows out there. When the band got back to London, Matlock left the band (hence no Glen signature on the record). The records were signed at McLarens Glitterbest offices in Dryden Chambers Oxford St, London after discussing the Matlock situation. To my knowledge Malcolm never put his signature on a Pistols record which makes this one of five completely unique items. These signatures have been examined by Mick O'Shea, respected Sex Pistols author and memorabilia expert and in his professional opinion they are from the 1976/77 era and are completely authentic. The letter of provenance from Mr O'Shea will be included with the record for the auction winner.
The record is in fabulous condition and has been stored in protective covers and in a smoke and pet free household.
