Description
Rare first pressing of 1000. The story goes that 1000 copies of this LP were pressed in the U.K., with only 11 tracks, to be used as promo copies. At the time, it had not yet been decided if a twelfth song, “Submission,” would be included or not, so there is no track listing on the back of the jacket. It is simply a blank hot-pink back cover with only the record number and copyright date. Soon after, it was decided that a 12-track version with “Submission” would be released instead (with a track listing on the back). In the meantime, a rush-released version of the album had been released in France, and copies were being imported to the U.K. So Virgin in the U.K. released their copies of the blank-back, 11-track version commercially to combat the sales of the French import.
In this listing is the 11-track version with the blank back cover, with the first pressing matrix numbers of V-2086-A-1 (side one), and V-2086-B-1 (side two). This record was hardly ever played. The vinyl is still shiny and the cover is in excellent shape.
