Description

Hi All, and welcome to the next phase, phase 3, in the thinning out of my boy’s stuff.  This time around I am disposing of a few albums, posters and bits.  In this auction you are invited to bid on a fab album by Deep Purple.

Title: SHADES OF DEEP PURPLE

Cat No: PCS 7055

Issue: 2nd Issue released in 1969 on the Black and Silver/White PARLOPHONE Label

Vinyl Condition: It is a beauty and in overall Ex condition strictly iaw RRPG.  The vinyl itself retains much of its deep gloss and shine.  There are no unsightly marks or scratches to report at all.  The disc is unblemished and lays perfectly flat on the turntable.  This is an Ex copy and will serve you well untill you succeed in tracking down the illusive Yellow and Black issue.

Playback Condition: It is a sheer delight to listen to with superb playback, no major interference, skips or jumps whatsoever; however, a few clicks and ticks are present on both sides, nothing too bad at all and certainly nothing that detracts from the pleasure of listening to the album on headphones. For most part, 99% of the time, the album plays back to an EX standard. However, being cautious I grade it as VG+ iaw RRPG standards. It truly is a fantastic copy of a highly rated album.

Label Condition: Just look at the Photo, the labels are perfect, no unsightly marks or damage at all.  Very very minor spindle marks but nothing that has damaged the label at all; all marks are commensurate with its age and use.  A fantastic set of unfettered labels.

Cover Front: An excellent example of this fully lamintaed front cover.  A few minor laminate creases near the bottom right corner near the opening but that's all - in all other regard the cover is in Ex shape with no unsightly marks or damage at all. The cover is a delight to behold and handle.

Cover Back: Unlaminated - with flip backs all of which are in fantastic condition. The only notable issue is a slight rubbing along the open edge side which has removed a very small part of the colour near to track listing for side one. That aside, the back cover is in Ex condition with no damage, writing or other marks whatsoever to report.

Spine: A beautiful example of a pinched and squared off spine perfectly formed and retained; all the text is clear and legible, just fab.

Corners: Ever so slightly bumped as you would expect for an album of this vintage but nothing bad at all and nothing that detracts from its overall presentation.

Summary:

Even these early 70's Black and Silver issues are getting more and more difficult to find in decent condition, and this copy is certainly that.  You don’t need me to tell you of the current and emerging interest in vinyl, (I don’t think it ever really went away to be honest) and this is making the good stuff more difficult to find.  So, here’s a chance to grab a decent copy of a great album before the the next generation of vinyl converts and audiophiles snaps them up.  If your a fan of Deep Purple please take a look at the Original 1985 Poster I currently have up for auction - when did you last see one of these if ever?

Finally, my guarantee is that if you do not agree with my description after receiving the item, please return it to me for a no quibble reimbursement of your money, less postage.  I can’t be fairer than that.  Good Luck.
