Description
Although it does not say on the cover, this is the first volume of the series and the very first direct to disc recording by Sheffield Lab! It was meant to be an experiment (thus the "Laboratory Series") of the "new old recording technology" and only 1000 copies were pressed. They were all sent to audio stores and critics for review and were not available to the general public. Because the response was overwhelmingly positive, Sheffield Lab went all-in for the technology. Only a handful playable copies were left (you know how well the audio dealers treat their demo discs!), and many audiophiles have never seen one in person! This is perhaps the only time you'll see all three volumes listed together!
Record condition: EX+/NM- (downgraded due to a small patch of surface marks ((may clean better?)), starts w/ 5 quiet swishes, only two into music, then plays close to NM-!)
Cover condition: EX+ (slight ring/edge wear)
Note: I'm a collector, not a dealer. The reason I'm selling is to downsize my collection. Every record I offer was hand-picked based on its merits on music, performance, and sonics (not necessarily in that order!). I will list recording credentials such as producer, engineer, venue, date, etc. as I believe as an educated buyer, these will offer crucial info for an unfamiliar record to make a buying judgement.
