LINCOLN MAYORGA & DISTINGUISHED COLLEAGUES, Volume III - Sheffield Lab-1 - Direct-to-Disc - Original Maroon Label

One of the early Sheffield Direct-to-Disc efforts, this produced by Doug Sax and Lincoln Mayorga and recorded by Bill Schnee.

It features some pretty fine tunes in THAT CERTAIN FEELING, YOU ARE THE SUNSHINE OF MY LIFE, a KING PORTER STOMP thrown in to move the woofers some, and a LE GRAND MEDLEY of movie music, among others, all played by some of the best studio players in the country at the time.

Very dynamic, so watch your volume.

Note, too, this is the original release, the heavy platter maroon label, and is not compiled from the master tapes of the session but was actually cut direct at the session. There's a big difference between the two, sonically, I assure you.

It is one of the best copies I have seen, and shows very little sign of play. Should play near mint, if not better.

A classic, not to be missed.
