Spacey Progressive/Poetic Acoustic Classical Guitar Beautiful Harmonies
This is a rare private Christian rock/praise LP released in 1982 on the Eden label by the band Shekinah.
?? Why was this LP never released by the "Christian music industry" ?? ( they were probably too busy "unplugging" the gritty Christian music of Randy Matthews or chasing "sugary-coated" Christian pop ! )
READ ! Don't get this LP confused with other bands that have the name Shekinah or Shekinah Glory
To quote from the book Archivist, Vintage Vinyl Jesus Music by Ken Scott: " The stunningly beautiful spacey music of Shekinah would seem to come from another world. Seldom has an acoustic duo resounded with such depth and mysterious beauty, with wind chimes, bell tree, harmonics, chamberlain ( like a mellotron )and haunting harmonies all contributing to an otherworldly quality. Moods range from the classical guitar John Michael Talbot tone of "Let Me Want You" to the eerie dissonance of "I Am Come Nigh,' to the cascading flanged electric guitar of "Jesus Eyes."
My favorite songs are "Jesus Eyes," and the 7 minute poetic/progressive-edged masterpiece "Christ, Lord, Messiah." Some of the songs on this album have a Messianic Middle Eastern flavor.
If you like the music of Water Into Wine Band, Arkangel, John Michael Talbot, and Phil Keaggy, then you'll probably like Shekinah.
The LP played very clean on my turntable ( a few pops ). Cover is still in shrink-wrap however I did notice a crease on the front cover ( about 2 inches long ). Beautiful psychedelic cover !

I like progressive, blues-rock, Celtic and some psychedelic music. Similar to the styles of Arkangel ( with Kemper Crabb ), Jimmy Hotz (classic "Beyond The Crystal Sea" LP), Oden Fong ( classic "Come For The Children" LP ), Eden ( a 70's Christian progressive rock band from Germany ), Semaja ( a 70's Christian progressive rock band from Germany who released a classic LP "Hear My Cry" ), the Exkursions ( with Mike Johnson ), Jeff Johnson, Iona, The Knights of the Lord's Table, Water Into Wine Band ( legendary Christian band from UK ), Proto-Kaw ( with Kerry Livgren ! ) and of course Phil Keaggy with Glass Harp !

NOTE : January 29th would have been my older brother's birthday. He died in 2001 at the age of 51. Life is short. Listen to the words of Shekinah: " Don't you realize it's only through Jesus' Eyes that we can see reality."
?? Does anyone have a copy of the album by the Shekinah Glory band ( I think the band was from Iowa )
