Shostakovich String Quartets 1 to 13 played by the unparalled Borodin Quartet in its original lineup on UK HMV SLS 879. 6LP's in a linen finish box with original booklet.
Biographies mention that Shostakovich preferred the playing of the Borodins to the officially sanctioned Beethoven Quartet, but never publically stated this for the sake of his status and the feelings of the Beethovens. To me also the Borodin Quartet are the best string Quartet I have ever had the privelege to hear, and I have been an avid lover and follower of quartets for a couple of decades.
Near Mint Lp's with clean labels, some appearing unplayed, no marks of any nature to the playing surfaces, Mint minus box with surface ink rubbed in places only, corners and hinges intact.
Look at others in a strong Audiophile and most collectible soloists list, a great week for Cello Lp's and early stereo from the Uk and the US from me. Feel free to combine shipping for great postage deals.
