The (rare) mono issue contains different song mixes from the stereo release and also features the big beat MONO punch in the sound production, way different from the stereo version...this IS the one to own !!!
Not strictly a British group, but packaged as part of the British Invasion, Them forged their hard-nosed R&B-garage sound in Belfast, Ireland, moving to England in 1964 after landing a deal with Decca Records. The band's simmering sound was dominated by boiling organ riffs, ripping fuzzed - guitars, and the tough sneering punk vocals of lead singer Van Morrison, whose recordings with Them rank among the very best performances of the British Invasion, not to mention USA gaarge-land, whose bands were so widely influenced that almost EVERY neighborhood fledging teen band played "Gloria." Morrison also wrote top-notch original material for the outfit, whose lineup changed numerous times over the course of their brief existence. As a hit-making act, their résumé was brief -- "Here Comes the Night" and "Baby Please Don't Go" were Top Ten hits in England, "Mystic Eyes" and "Here Comes the Night" made the Top 40 in the U.S. -- but their influence was considerable, reaching soon to be major bands like the Doors, whom Them played with during a residency in Los Angeles just before Van Morrison quit the band in 1966. Their most influential song of all, the classic three-chord garage-punk stormer "Gloria," is included within this remarkable USA release that happens to be in TOP condition still in the original shrink wrapper.

CONDITION: Beautiful MINT, still in original factory shrink wrapper ~ you just do not often find like this! has a slight bottom corner ding from previous shipping, but DOES NOT take away from the display level appearance! NO DELETE MARKS, prefect-clean as first released 43+ years ago!
The vinyl is "EX" (excellent), having but inner sleeve paper type scuffs. no needle marks. playback is TOP LEVEL !!!
