 Sibelius: Symphony No. 6 in D Minor-Sir Thomas
Beecham, Baronet conducting the Royal Philharmonic
Orchestra (3-12" white dog/horn "His Master's Voice"
78rpm English first edition shellac discs DB 9466/68.
Automatic sequence. Thrilling performance of Finnish
composer Sibelius's brilliantly orchestrated Sixth
Symphony by the conductor's post WWII reorganized
Royal Philharmonic of hand-picked instrumentalists.
Excellent HMV sound. The second Beecham recording of a major
20th century masterpiece by one of the composer's
greatest champions. Presence of the  overall orchestral
panorama and of the many solos is astonishingly good.
Mint condition. Plain 3-pocket album.



From the private collection of R. Peter Munves, who was in the record business as well as an avid collector for over 50 years and has decided to part with his beloved collection. All albums are from the late 20’s to early 40’s, and many are original, 1st editions containing pristine pressings from the golden age of 78’s.
