Description

Super RARE find, here. This is the album that critics often say created "rock-n-roll" AND it is hand signed by the King himself, Elvis Presley. The music is essentially rock-a-billy but that is what started the ball rolling. Elvis probably had a few prior recordings from his SUN label days but this RCA Victor LPM-1254 put him on the map (along with Ed Sullivan of course). The pressing dates from 1956. This is the much sought after FIRST pressing which is proven by looking at the label on the vinyl (photo 12) and seeing the letters "P.D." after the song "Just Because". "P.D." stands for public domain and subsequent pressing of this landmark album gave the credit for the composition of the song to a writer. The vinyl has a few visible scratches and one visible long surface scratch  (photo 6). The desireable paler coloring of the letters spelling the artist's name are seen on the front of the album (subsequent pressings darkened those colors). The album cover is in decent condition with a few light spots and stains on the back but 3 sides of the album cover are detached from each other (photo 7) but could easily be re-glued. Autographed album is being sold as is. Autograph in blue ink says "Best Wishes, Elvis Presley" (photo 8). There is no certificate of authenticity because this original album belonged to a fan who had Elvis sign it.
