Simon & Garfunkel were an American folk rock duo consisting of singer-songwriter Paul Simon and singer Art Garfunkel. They were one of the most popular recording artists of the 1960s and became counterculture icons of the decade's social revolution.
Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1990
First US mono release.
"Simon & Garfunkel" in white lettering. "Sounds of Silence" in blue on one line underneath.
No song listing on front cover and song listing does NOT appear in the box at bottom of back cover.
Tiger Beat magazine logo visible in photos on back cover (airbrushed out of most later issues).
Original U.S. pressings of this album show track A6 as "Angie" and credit Bert Jansch as writer.
Beginning in 1968, this track title was corrected to "Anji", and the writer to Davy Graham.
Even though missed spelled on the back sleeve, track A6 does show Davy Graham as the writer.
Red Columbia label with white "360 Sound" lettering.
NONBREAKABLE under catalog number on label.
