Description
Sit-In Songs: Songs of the Freedom Riders (Dauntless (Audio Fidelity Records) DM 4301 1962), 12 tracks, mono. Released with the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), during the 1962 pickets and sit-ins at Eckerd's Drug Store and Howard Johnson's in Durham, North Carolina. Durham and other peaceful actions were part of CORE’s “Freedom Highways” project. The 5½”x8½” 22-page lyric and information booklet is included. Booklet contains lyrics to 10 of the 12 album tracks, plus 9 additional freedom songs. According to the liner-notes the booklet was sold separately, for 25¢. Grading: Vinyl – EX, played. Minor scuffs apparent, but plays great. Outer sleeve VG+. Title edge has damage, see photo. Jacket has a distinct musty odor, was in a basement for 60 years. Needs a good airing out. Inner sleeve is generic white paper. Lyric booklet is in perfect shape, I doubt it was opened much. See associated item #324795682200
