1966? Top Deck DLM 5000 DB DLM 5000 A 1H / DB DLM 5000 B 1H Vinyl VG+ light surface marks, signs of play and handling - plays great though it should be stressed it's not a superb pressing in the hi-fi sense... Labels VG+ some pen marks otherwise not too shabby Sleeve etc VG+ custom sleeve is still strong with no splits but a few small pen marks and some wear and handling click on the images to enlarge!scans are always of the actual item for sale! Well here we have it...Justin Yapp's finest hour.He was rumoured to pay his musicians generous rates of pay to extract the best of the best from the session.I think you will agree this comes out in the music...' This is some of the highest qualitymusic the skatalites would ever record in their short two years together. Trumpeter Johnny Moore has even been quoted as saying he believs it to be the best sessions the band ever did. This should be a definate buy for any skatalites fan, or anyone seeking a good example of reggae's roots'
Now this is the extremley rare first press on TOP DECK and not the later WIRL pressing that replaced a couple of instrumentals with vocals.It also came on a uk Doctor Bird.
I'm going to stick my neck out and say this might be first ever copy to appear on ebay !
Winner has something to hand down to the children!.
NOTE Sleeve looks like it is the WIRL version as it lists the two tracks 'shame and scandle' & 'Wings of a dove' that don't tally with the Vinyl.
