During the Soviet era western music was hard to find and there were few if any official releases. If you managed to find a genuine release it was one that had been smuggled into the country and sold via the black market.
To offset this shortage the bootleggers quickly found that their own garage pressing plants could be soon put to good use and so once a genuine copy of an LP had been obtained a metal master was made and copies were then hand pressed, each city seemingly having half a dozen or so illicit pressing operations.
This copy of Slayed? was pressed and printed for me using old metal masters  during a visit to Russia in 2002 in MOSCOW.
