Description

I am not a record dealer or record shop, I am having, through necessity to sell my vinyl
collection and books.

I first saw Slayer, the Rock / Metal Thrash band from California when I went to see Iron Maiden
at Donington Park and became a fan of their music. I have four of their original vinyl
recordings (please see my pictures) the first two have already been sold.

This auction is for Slayer’s album Reign in Blood which was released in 1986 on the
DEF Jam/ London label, under the London catalogue number LONLP 34.

The album, as with much of the bands material has a bit of a history. I copy the comments
from Discogs in relation to it, at the bottom of this auction.

The vinyl surface looks in good condition as is the cardboard sleeve. It was only ever
played on my own hi-fi equipment.

The tracks on the album are as follows:

Side 1:
Angel Of Death
Piece By Piece
Necrophobic
Altar Of Sacrifice
Jesus Saves

Side 2:
Criminally Insane
Reborn
Epidemic
Postmortem
Raining Blood

“CBS, who distributed Def Jam albums, had refused to handle Reign In Blood despite the
fact that it was already paid for. Their issues were down to two things: the cover and
the song "Angel Of Death" (they demanded that Slayer remove the song).

Columbia refused to release it because of "Angel of Death" and Geffen released it but
without their logo present.

It is considered one of the most influential thrash metal albums of all time, and was
certified gold (500,000+ sales) by the RIAA on November 20, 1992 (six years after its
release).

It reached #94 on the Billboard 200 and produced four singles: "Raining Blood",
"Angel Of Death", "Necrophobic" and "Criminally Insane".
