Here are my old copies of these two great sixties Small Faces albums - I've been lucky enough to get better ones recently. These are not perfect copies, but they've served me well for years and years. Photos are the items for sale.
I guess not everyone will know exactly what these are - if you do, skip this bit! Ogdens Nut Gone Flake has one side that is the "Happiness Stan" concept piece - a suite of songs, with story elements narrated by Stanley Unwin. The other side is individual tracks, including the awesome "Afterglow" and "Song For A Baker", plus "Lazy Sunday". The Autumn Stone is the 1969 double album, on which you get hits (from their Immediate and Decca periods), some unreleased songs, and three live tracks.
How about condition? Ogdens - cover first - this round cover should comprise 5 circles, joined together - one big sheet, die-cut into 5 joined circles, then folded to make one circular cover. The big sheet is coloured on one side and black-and-white on the other. As the joining part between the circles is small, these tear apart (pretty much on your way home from the record shop..). Item for sale here, has two of the five circles, as pictured, including the iconic front element. The record - as pictured, with regard to the label. Playing surface has a problem on the track "Happiness Stan", which is either an inclusion in the vinyl, or a small cigarette burn. It is in the photo, you may be able to see it near top right. This plays through OK, without skipping or stopping. One might notice a dimple (little raised area) in the vinyl on the other side - which doesn't cause any problem when playing the record. There are other marks / scuffs / scratches, but this is still a good record to listen to, with crackling here-and-there, but all the original sound and character.
Autumn Stone - Gatefold cover is as pictured, is intact, with wear around the edges / corners, just as we find on an album that has been handled a lot. There is a name written then crossed-out in blue ink, on the inside of the gatefold. Playing surfaces have some marks / scuffs / scratches, but this is still a very enjoyable record to listen to, all the original sound and character still there. It may skip a groove on "Here Comes The Nice". I've been playing this, loud, while composing this listing, recommend you do the same! Note that this is the red label version - not obvious from my photo.
So, not your miraculous-survivor, never-been-played copies, but well worth having as good starter / player copies, offered at a very moderate price.
