Description

This is New Orleans R&B singer and guitarist Smiley Lewis singing "I Hear You Knocking" and "Bumpity Bump" on Imperial 5356 from 1955. This # 2  R&B chart record looks VG++ with minor surface markings but plays in NM condition and comes in an Imperial Records company sleeve. The picture sleeve is a custom sleeve that is made in Canada or England and is in MINT condition. This picture sleeve is one-off sleeve that was not mass produced. This item comes in a clear, resealable, poly-vinyl protective sleeve with a cardboard backer separating the record from the picture sleeve. Gale Storm took her pop version of "I Hear You Knocking" to # 2 on the pop charts. The flip side Smiley's "Bumpity Bump" reminds me of Joe Turner's "Flip, Flop and Fly".
