A fascinating and obscure piece of early 1950s popular music history!


These vintage 10-inch 78 rpm set features Snooky Lanson with the Fred Norman Orchestra, performing songs associated with the great hit-song era of the early 1950s. Lanson was one of the best-known voices of Your Hit Parade, and this collection features many songs from the same musical world that made him famous.


Each side contains 3 songs, Snookey is the only singer who has a song on each side. The other two songs per side are sung by studio singers backed a small combo.


The selections include songs popular around 1952, including numbers associated with the Your Hit Parade broadcasts of the period. This appears to be an unofficial companion-style release aimed at fans who enjoyed hearing Snooky sing America’s favorite songs.
