Description

Remember the Band of Gypsys contractual obligation album Hendrix released in 1970? It's one helluva good record despite its shaky origins. He tries on a new sound from his Experience band, stripped down funky jams instead of psychedelia. I didn't like Buddy Miles on this until..... I did. He was perfect for what Hendrix was trying to do. Billy Cox on bass is perfect too. This box set collects, for the first time, ALL four sets/shows recorded Dec 31 1969 and Jan 1 1970. There's latest tech aural sound clean up. Eddie Kramer, the guy originally in charge of the recordings is still helping the Hendrix family and is involved in all the releases, including this.  It sounds great and I never liked 60s and 70s live record sounds. This one is crisp, sharp and clean.
