J.McLean-A.Farmer Blue Note Liberty (IT) RVG cover US Sonny Clark ' Cool struttin' ' BLUE NOTE BNL 1588 (ITALY) stereo Liberty blue-white label - originally issued in 1958 - this is the 1967 Italian issue and it was a weird crossover because it was factory housed in a US 1966 mono cover with address 43W 61st St. on bottom back cover - on trail-off (dead wax) has printed 'RVG' for Rudy Van Gelder 1967/1968 contract pressing for Italian market - sleeve says 'printed in USA' and is exactly the same used for the Liberty US pressing Even if the label indicated a stereo recording on the trail-off (dead wax) is shown 'BNLP 1588A' and 'BNLP 1588B' Sonny Clark : piano - Art Farmer : trumpet - Jackie McLean : alto sax - Paul Chambers : bass - Philly Joe Jones : drums Side A : Cool struttin' - Blue minor Side B : Sippin' at bells (C.Parker) - Deep night All compositions by Sonny Clark except as indicated Visual grading : record is EX+ full lustre has minimal wear. Clean labels with very light spindle wear Playing grading : record is EX+ plays very well with loud and clear sound and without any kind of fault Cover grading : cover is VG+ has light wear to corners, edges and to spine which has all titles readable. Front cover has a very light starting ringwear. Back cover has light rubbing around the edges.
