Description
This one sure doesn't come up for auction very often and here is a chance to get a really solid copy of Sonny Rollins - A Night At The Village Vanguard. This is a Blue Note BLP 1581 issue. The Matrix Runout on Side 1 is RVG BN-LP-1581-A and Side 2 is RVG BN-LP-1581-B. Notice that label on Side 1 shows the address as Blue Note Records Inc - New York USA with the small (r) under "NOTE" on the bottom of the label and Side 2 shows the address as Blue Note Records - 47 West 63rd NYC and there is no small (r) under "NOTE" on the bottom of the label (this label combination - although I've yet to actually see one with this actual combination) appears to indicate a very early - perhaps early - mid 60's issue. The vinyl is a solid VG to VG+ in places and actually plays extremely well. It really sounds great. You can hear the band members calling out to each other during the performance. It's a lively listen. The jacket has significant splitting and in parts is held together with tape (see pics). There is no water damage or mold damage and the pictures are crisp and clear. Inner sleeve is generic. This is a really solid Blue Note record and must have for any fan of Sonny Rollins. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
