Description
This is the original deep-groove RVG-etched pressing of Sonny Rollins “Saxophone Colossus” on the West 50th St. labels of Prestige PRLP 7079. The playing surface is in beautiful condition, with a nice luster; perhaps played once or twice; hairline on Side 2, Track 2 (“Blue Seven”) has six light, non-repetitive tics that do not interfere with the music. Side A has a flat rim, while Side B has a beaded rim. Other than ½” lamination lifting (no flaking) at the lower right corner, the West 50th St. cover is in immaculate condition, with sharp corners, perfect seams, clean and bright throughout; small number inked at the top right corner of the back slick.
