Description
This is the original deep groove RVG-etched pressing of “Sonny Stitt” on the West 50th St. labels of Prestige PRLP 7024. The playing surface is near-new condition, with a high luster; two tiny marks on the 4th and 5th tracks of Side A are briefly, lightly audible. The original coated frame West 50th St. cover is clean throughout, with normal age toning on the back slick; 1 ½” wear/split on the bottom seam, at the opening. It is interesting to note that the Don Martin artwork is mis-aligned on this original cover, with the images on the vertical. The laminated re-pressing of the cover corrects the alignment, with the images on the horizonal. Original glassine inner sleeve is included. Personnel include Bud Powell, J.J. Johnson, John Lewis, and Max Roach. $100.00
