Description

Up for bid an ultra rare 10-inch private record pressing from

“Sonny” with Gil and Hawk

Pasadena Recorders #334

148 North Pasadena Avenue Pasadena California

This was the Jimmy Jones Recording Studios

10-inch Green colored vinyl EP album.

Sonny who's real name may be Ernest Crawford

sounds like an African American rock 'n roll and blues

singer who may have originated from

the state of Louisiana, and has a Cajan sounding accent.

He speaks on other LP's I will have up for sale.

(Phone samples available on request)

He has a raw rock 'n roll sound much like

Chuck Berry and The Rolling Stones.

His music has many styles and feels to it from roots

R&B to 1960's surf jams with a definite Cajan edge etc.,

Because Sonny mentions the fact The Rolling Stones did a version of “The Little Red Rooster”

this record must have been recorded in at least 1964 or later.

Fantastic electric guitar.

This was a privately produced EP record. No cover.

It comes from the estate of Mr and Mrs Bud Conrade who lived at 7918 Brookmill Road, Downey CA 90241,

and knew Sonny personally. (see my other listings of Sonny's private recordings)

The matrix numbers are #J.J. 334 A/B

The condition of the disc is NM/M super clean

with excellent sound. No indication of Stereo or Mono?

NOTE: Sonny introduces the last song on side two “The Little ed Rooster”

and make a comment about the Rolling Stones doing this one.

side A cuts

It Hurt Me Too

(Everybody covered this one from Tampa Red to Eric Clapton)

Big Boss Man

(The Jimmy Reed Jam)

side B cuts

Let's Go Tripping

(The Dick Dale Surf Song)

The Red Rooster

(The Rolling Stones version)

I WILL SHIP ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!
