Description
Classic and very rare vinyl LP of the first Space album from 1996, and this is the first pressing on Gut Records GUTLP1
It is from my own collection and has had very little play (maybe half a dozen times when I bought it on release) as it just wasn't my thing. Since then it has been stored vertically in racking with other vinyl.
The outer and inner sleeves are in excellent condition. There is no major creasing or blemishes on the outer sleeve - see pictures - and I think you'd describe it as being very good. The inner sleeve is even better and looks brand new.
The vinyl is shiny and like new. The runouts have A1 and B1 scratched onto them. There is no other cryptic message on this pressing - for example, it's not a Porky Prime Cut!
The only blemishes on the vinyl are in the original pressing as it's got some little small indentations in the vinyl in a handful of places. Presumably the vinyl used for this first pressing wasn't the top grade so I'm guessing all copies are likely to be similar. The final picture shows a real close-up of the worst of them which is at the start of Side A - you can see that compared with the run-in grooves it's not actually very big! I've just played it and it gives about a dozen clicks, half of which affect the first few seconds of the song . This is the only place where the factory blemishes have any impact on audio quality.
I will package it carefully in a custom mailer and send by Royal Mail recorded delivery.
