Sparks – Angst In My Pants
Label: Atlantic – SD 19347
Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo, Specialty Pressing
Country: US
Released: 1982
Genre: Rock
Style: New Wave, Pop Rock
Well-preserved original 1982 U.S. pressing of Angst In My Pants by cult rock legends Sparks, issued by Atlantic Records and pressed by Specialty Records Corporation (SP pressing). This edition includes the factory shrinkwrap (opened with a slit) and the original printed inner sleeve with lyrics, credits, and band photo. This is a cutout bin copy, with a clean notch cut into the top right of both the outer sleeve and printed inner sleeve—standard for discounted label overstock at the time.
The vinyl is near mint, shows little to no signs of play, and plays beautifully. Matrix runouts are etched with ST-A-824890-A, Atlantic Studios DK, and the EDP (Europadisk) mastering stamp, indicating high-quality mastering and pressing. There is no barcode on the back cover, consistent with early '80s originals.
This album, produced by Mack (Queen, ELO) and featuring the iconic Mael brothers, includes fan favorites like “I Predict,” “Mickey Mouse,” and the quirky classic “Eaten by the Monster of Love,” later featured in the cult film Valley Girl.
A must-have Sparks LP for collectors of early '80s new wave, glam pop, and weird rock brilliance.
