Description

This is part of a big auction of mainly Specialty Records 7" 45's. Specialty recorded many great artists in the blues, R&B & gospel genres among others. All of those will be represented. There will also be a nice selection of rare bonus listings.

Release: Percy Mayfield - Please Believe Me / Diggin' The Moonglow

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1957


Notes: White & yellow original first pressing. Mayfield was best known for writing the classic song "Hit the Road Jack", but released several singles in early to mid-50's. Interesting guitar intro on this and more of soul type vocal.  Very interesting track. B-side is more like a bluesy ballad.


Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in great shape with hardly any wear at all, just a couple of tiny surface scuffs. Looks very clean and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, plays with hardly any background noise at all.  Labels are nice with original gloss, with no tearing/stickers. This is a nice copy overall.


Sleeve Condition: VG, Original outer sleeve has some light wrinkles and a small pencil number on the back, but no tears or splits. Nice shape overall. VG to VG+.
