On offer here is the SUPER-RARE ORIGINAL 1ST ISSUE UK PEG LABEL VINYL LP(PEG 13) RELEASE FROM 1972 BY SPIROGYRA ENTITLED 'OLD BOOT WINE'.This was the second of their three classic studio LP releases and is the very best of the now termed acid-folk genre,although in its day it was simply called folk-rock.Everything here comes in an absolutely EXCELLENT condition and this is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a truly superb LP,which only appears very rarely on ebay.
The notoriously very fragile textured SLEEVE(I once heard it described as not much better than blotting-paper) is still in remarkable condition for its age,with just a little wear to the spine and edges(top edge of spine main wear) and just a few light creases on the front and back cover close to the spine edge.I will grade as EXCELLENT-.The lovely purple PEG LABELS are in superb condition and I will grade as EXCELLENT+.The VINYL retains its lovely sheen,with just the odd mark when held to the light, and plays beautifully.There are,obviously,absolutely no skips or jumps whatsoever.Having just listened to the LP again on headphones,the clarity and power of the instrumentation and vocals is brilliant.There is nothing worse on the record than the very occasional lightest bit of background crackle,the only slightly extended bit being at the very start of Side 2 in the intro and very start of the first track of Side 2.The vinyl still rates as a very strong EXCELLENT and is a marvellous listening experience.I have owned the album from new for 43 years and although it has been played many times,it was always with great loving care.Incidentally,the MATRIX numbers are PEG 13 A-1U and PEG 13 B-2U.The vinyl comes in the original plain white poly-lined inner.
