Description
I bought this new in 1980 when the Empire Strikes Back came out and I became a Star Wars mega-fan. I played this record quite often in those days, especially Side One, so I chose that side for test play just prior to making this listing. Light to moderate crackling and popping were audible throughout the side, but there were no skips.
This album has been stored vertically in a stereo cabinet out of direct sunlight, in climate-controlled, smoke-free homes since purchase.
Record Grading: (VG+)
All four record surfaces are bright and glossy. Side One, despite being frequently played, looks new. Sides Two, Three, and especially Four have filmy areas that were not removed by wet cleaning, but there are no scratches visible. The labels on all four sides look new.
Sides 1 and 4 are on Disc 1.
Sides 2 and 3 are on Disc 2.
Outer Sleeve Grading: (VG+)
Fully intact double gatefold with clean and glossy surface and minor corner and edge wear. The front has light scratches and scuffs, and a full ring is visible. The back has a partial ring, with yellowing visible in the lighter-colored part along the spine. There is yellowing along the inside edges of the openings. Spine is completely legible, including catalog no. 2T-541(0898).
Inner Sleeve Grading: (VG)
Original paper inner sleeves with 20th Century Records logo. Wrinkled and dog-eared, and an approx. 4-inch-long split on one side of both sleeves.
Inserts (two): (VG+)
Insert with history of the film and the music, along with film and musician credits including the members of the London Symphony Orchestra and the instrument each played. The back has descriptions of the musical themes and the scenes in the movie to which they correspond. The paper is slightly yellowed and has some light wrinkles but is fully legible.
The second insert is a blank order form for an official Star Wars/May The Force Be With You T-shirt, from back in the day when you had to order things by snail mail and could get an adult T-shirt for $5. This insert has some light wrinkles and a deep fold from where the edge got caught in the gatefold.

Records were wet-cleaned, dried, and come packaged in new polyethylene sleeves; original inner sleeves included. Ships via USPS Media Mail, securely packed in a record mailer.
