<<50th Anniversary, In a couple of months time!>>
An original and very 1st press of PILEDRIVE on UK Vertigo Swirl. Matrix 1/1. Remember, there are loads of copies out there on Vertigo Spaceship...much much harder to find a true day of release 1st press on Vertigo Swirl. Finding a really decent 1st is actually pretty tricky. But that's what we've got here...The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st day of release gatefold cover. How can we tell? The earliest copies were NOT credited to the printer. At the foot of the rear there is NO mention of the printer. We also have the genuine Vertigo Swirl inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) Wow, a really super looking copy. If you got this title on your shopping list - have a serious look at this one. Has clearly seen only light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of very lightest marks per side - very nice sheen. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Plays pretty clean by and large, but I did notice a couple of 1 second pulses of interference in "A Year". Overall that track plays nice with low noise floor - but do expect a couple of these pulses [sort of midway through]. That's all I can hold against the record. It plays great for 99% of the trip...
Cover (Ex-) These unlaminated cover in white are an absolute nightmare to find in decent condition. Anything approaching an Ex is highly unusual. Lovely solid front opening panel. This copy has avoided the worst affects of the ageing process. Just a faint trace along the spine edge - that's al that's noticeable. No creasing or nasty marks. Interior is pretty much perfect. Minimal edge wear and really nice sharp firm opening. The spine is fully intact and is the only area which exhibits some discolouration [ageing]. Overall a very respectable original example.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits. Bag present.
