Description
Status Quo 'Paper Plane' b/w 'Softer Ride' 6059 071 Vertigo Records 1972 Made in Ireland
Hard-to-find Irish pressing of classic Quo single. Labels imported from the UK were apparently used for these pressings hence the 'Made In England' in the top right corner. According to Discogs these Irish pressings can be identified by the rough 'lunar' finish of the labels. I think you can see this at the centre of the Side One label (see photos 6 & 7). The little grooves on the outer circumference of the labels also seem to be more tightly packed on this pressing which also matches the photographs on Discogs.
This particular copy comes in a Vertigo swirl black and white sleeve. Unfortunately it is split down both sides but it still looks good when placed in a clear sleeve and is graded as Very Good. The vinyl itself has an abundance of little scratches as you will be able to see from the photos. It is graded as Fair. The record plays through on both sides without skipping. There is a lot of surface noise but the track 'Paper Plane' is cut quite loud and doesn't sound too bad all things considered. The B Side however has some quiet passages where the surface noise is very noticeable. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.
