Description

  For sale is Steely Dan's Gaucho, originally released in 1980 by MCA Records. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is stamped "Masterdisk" followed by "RL", indicating that this record was mastered at Masterdisk, N.Y bu acclaimed engineer Robert Ludwig. This is a hallmark of state-of-the-art mastering engineering and superior sound quality and is highly sought after by collectors and music lovers. I bought this used and immediately put this album into a MFSL archival inner sleeve after cleaning it professionally on my VPI machine. This protects the integrity of any inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with this release. The inner sleeve is Near Mint. The cover is graded as VG+ because of a sticker residue the top, ring wear, oxidation and some corner blunting. The spine has a little color loss at both corners from these blunts. The vinyl is graded as Excellent with surface scratches that do not affect playback. This is still one of the best copies of this hard to find album that I have ever seen or heard. You would be hard pressed to find one in this condition, being that it has become so scarce. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.    I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative.
