I am selling off my personal collection of original UK first pressing vinyl albums to supplement a house move. It's sad to see them go but the money will come in useful. I have adopted the Record Collector magazine’s Grading Guide to describe the condition and I have also play-checked each album, so you can be confident about buying. The pictures are also of the actual album you are bidding on.

A Genuine Original 1969 UK 1st Pressing Vinyl LP on the EMI Stateside orange record label and in the gate-fold laminated cover sleeve.

Description and Track List
This album (catalogue no. SSL 5021 (1E 062 o 90764)) is an original 1969 UK first pressing. It can be identified as such because it has the orange disk labels. The album is in such good condition because it has been stored in a protective plastic cover since new.
 
NOTE: This is the version with the misprint on the label of side 1 where track America is listed as (b) instead of (c) IT IS A VERY COLLECTIBLE COPY AND IF YOU ARE A COLLECTOR IT SHOULD BE A GOOD INVESTMENT.
 
 
Political and social commentary from an early rock band, Steppenwolf's ‘Monster’, which was their fourth studio album, remains to this day their watermark album. The lyrics of these protest songs, which still have relevance today, tackled the then-current issues of the Vietnam War, draft resisters and the decay of justice in America.
 
The three-part ‘Monster/Suicide/America' title track alone is testimony to the strength of the band and to John Kay's storytelling prowess; an ambitious piece of folk balladry and hard rock, the message remains relevant as it dispels the illusion of "America The Land Of The Free", beginning with the genocide of the American Indian right up to the military industrial complex that has all but destroyed this once promising country. Add to the mixture the powerful blues rockers "Power Play" and "Move Over" and the whimsical instrumental "Fag" as well as the scathing closer "From Here To There Eventually" and you have an amazingly diverse musical statement that rocks hard with a strong sense of melodicism throughout; and special kudos to guitarist Larry Byrom on this album, whose blistering solos on this album rival anything laid down by the considerable talents of original guitarist Michael Monarch, which is saying a lot.
 
Steppenwolf would never attain this height again and it remains the pinnacle of their body of work.

Condition (using Record Collector Magazine grading)
I have tried to provide good quality large pictures of the album and sleeves. Please take the time to click through them and satisfy yourself of the quality of this LP. The pictures should speak for themselves.
Vinyl = NEAR MINT: The record has been played once or twice but is in near mint condition. In bright daylight I can just make out one very light surface scratch on side 2. I have play-tested the album and there is absolutely no discernable lessening in sound quality. It’s also a good quality pressing with very little background noise.
Cover = NEAR MINT: The cover sleeve has been kept in a protective plastic sleeve since new and so it is also in near mint condition with just the slightest rubbing to the leading edge of the cover. The original retailer wrote the word ‘sale’ on the inside edge of the record pocket, but this is not visible.
 
 
Note
The record will be very well packaged and sent Royal Mail Small Parcel, which is the cheapest option.
