With his astonishingly accomplished guitar playing, Stevie Ray Vaughan inflamed the blues revival of the 80s. Vaughan was on the one hand by Blues people like Albert King, Otis rush and Hubert Sumlin influences, on the other hand of rock 'n' roll musicians such as Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack and also by the stray Jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell, where he has a uniquely eclectic and fiery style developed, which resembled no other guitarist, no matter what genre. Vaughan bridged the gap between blues and rock, as no other had done since the late 60s. For about seven years, Stevie Ray Vaughan was the leading star of American blues, with constantly-sold-out concerts and albums, which were regularly to Gold records. His tragic death in 1990 only even more clearly showed its influence on blues and American rock 'n' roll.
This box set is classic Stevie Ray Vaughan, meticulously re-mastered from analogue tapes from Sterling sound in New York. In each set, one finds "Texas Flood", "couldn't stand the weather", "soul to soul", "In Step", as well as the posthumous classics "Family Style" and "the sky is crying".

A few statistical data show an exemplary Vaughan's success and musical influence: his debut album "Texas Flood" reached No. 38 on the charts on the way to the rock radio stations. The following album "couldn't stand the weather", released in May 1984, reaching the No. 31 on the charts; Late 1985 there was gold for it. Vaughan and his band double trouble recorded their third album "soul to soul", which came out in August 1985 and reached number 34 in the charts.
