Description
Up for auction is a genuine piece of punk rock history: an absolute holy grail for collectors of Northern Irish punk and the Ulster DIY scene. This is a verified original first pressing of Stiff Little Fingers’ debut single, "Suspect Device" b/w "Wasted Life," released on their own Rigid Digits label (Cat: SRD-1).
Only 500 copies of this initial red-label run were pressed. This copy features the legendary, authentic handwritten number "2" in black marker on the B-side label, identifying it as part of that incredibly scarce first batch distributed in Belfast in March 1978.
This copy was obtained directly by my father (who was a journalist) at the original release event in Belfast back in 1978.
Condition Report & Playback (Please Read Carefully):I believe in 100% honesty so there are no surprises for the winning bidder.

IMPORTANT - NOT TESTED: Please note that I do not own a turntable and have absolutely no means of play-testing this record. It is being sold based on a visual grading only, as-is. I cannot guarantee whether it skips or how much background noise/crackle is present.

This record is not pristine. There are visible surface scratches on this side 2. Additionally, there is a physical dent located on the non-playing part of the vinyl (near the outer rim / run-out groove). It appears to be outside of the actual music tracks, but it is a structural flaw. I have tried to show this in the photos.
-
Sleeve: The sleeve is in reasonable condition for its age. It shows a slight, classic record ring indentation from storage, but is structurally sound.
