Description
“Reason in Tonality" on STRATA-EAST RECORDS (( SES-1972-2 ) featuring Clifford Jordan, George Coleman, Julius Watkins, Harold Mabern, Larry Ridley and Keno Duke. Recorded live at the Village Vanguard in New York City on February 13, 1972.
The album cover is in VG++ condition with no seam splits or even the beginnings of such. The corners are dented. The vinyl (a "promotion copy") play-grades as somewhere between Near Mint and Near Mint Minus - in other words, a very nice copy of this exciting session on the historic Strata-East label.
Also noteworthy is the duration of the sides, i.e., Side A is Julius Watkin's composition "Reasons in Tonality", a 24-minute performance and Side B is Keno Duke's "3-M.B." which clocks in at 22:45. Obviously, in both cases this is more than the usual length of the side of an LP.

Also being auctioned on the STRATA-EAST label: "Glass Bead Games" ( SES-19737-8 )
- a DOUBLE-LP from 1973 featuring tenor saxophonist Clifford Jordan with two different rhythm sections - Cedar Walton / Sam Jones / Billy Higgins and Stanley Cowell / Bill Lee / Billy Higgins performing original compositions by the quartet members.
