Description

Strawberry Alarm Clock Incense and Peppermint

Original US 1968 release UNI Records, a division of MCA

UNI 73014 US 1026 T3 / US 1027 T15

Strawberry Alarm Clock formed in 1967 and together with Jefferson Airplane helped form the sound of mid-sixties hippy California. Actually from Glendale, California, the band is best known for ‘Incense and Peppermint.  No other album captures those carefree days.  It is also sad that founder member and guitarist Ed King, who went on to play for Lynyrd Skynyrd  passed away in August this year.

Sleeve:  US heavy cardboard (non-laminated) sleeve. Pretty good condition, no rips or splits all edges and spine true, just light age related scuffing and slight rubbing on corners only. There is the letter “S” written front top right (see photos) graded VG+

Labels: Nice clean condition; no marks/stains or writing solid VG+ (see photos)

Vinyl: Visually both sides continue to retain their original sheen -  a few light wispy surface lines primarily caused by sleeve removal, mostly only visible under light, one small non-fee-able scratch, nothing more, graded VG+

Audio: Plays through with clear audio separation, still punchy after all these years, no distortion. There is light static crackle on run-in, and between a couple of tracks, the odd (random) non-obtrusive light background pip, nothing more - once noticed/its gone. Lovely copy VG+

With regards to age, I do not regard ‘good for age’ as a condition. Condition is primarily care related.

I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I am a collector the few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or in this case a bit of thinning every now and again. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away, and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.

Feedback: On receiving goods please let me know if you have any questions, otherwise kindly leave positive feedback and I will do likewise on receipt - thank you.

I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
