Description

This is pure mid-’80s Stryper — yellow-and-black everything, huge guitars, soaring vocals, and absolutely zero subtlety.

The centerpiece here is Soldiers Under Command, Stryper’s breakthrough full-length and one of the records that defined Christian metal in the ’80s. This copy is the 1985 US first pressing on white vinyl and includes the original lyric insert — exactly the kind of complete early copy collectors want.

There is a small black vinyl smudge/spot on Side 2, visible in the photos. This is not damage or a pressing defect — it’s a harmless color carryover from the original production run, which was pressed on both white and black vinyl.

Paired with it is the Reason For The Season 12” single, featuring Stryper’s gloriously over-the-top Christmas anthem along with Winter Wonderland. This copy is still in its original shrink, which gives the whole package even more vintage collector appeal. It’s an early 1985 repress.

Together, these two releases capture Stryper right at the beginning of their classic run — before the MTV explosion, before the arenas got bigger, when the stripes were loud, the harmonies were huge, and the band sounded like they were trying to convert the entire Sunset Strip one guitar solo at a time.

A killer pairing for any Stryper fan, ’80s metal collector, or anyone who appreciates records that could only have existed in 1985.
