Description
This is a 2 LP disco compilation entitled "A Night At Studio 54". It was released in 1979 on Casablanca Records. It is in a gorgeous gatefold sleave with some awesome pictures of the Studio 54 Nightclub on the inside, which seems to be in great condition with no sign of wring wear. The vinyls have some visible scuff marks on them, but appear to be in great condition. Now the sad part - each side of each record is "mixed", i.e. these are not full-length tracks, except for the Cheryl Lynn. Also no times are listed. However, this is great to put on and imagine yourself on the dancefloor under the mirror balls again.... Track listing is: Side one: Chic "Le Freak", Michael Zager Band "Let's All Chant" (gotta love the breaks on this one), Village People "Y.M.C.A." and G.Q. "Disco Nights"; Side two: Cher "Take Me Home" (ah the memories), Alicia Bridges "I Love the Night Life (Disco) Round", Love & Kisses "I Found Love (Now That I Found You)" and Donna Summer "Last Dance"; Side three: Cheryl Lynn "Got to be Real", Instant Funk "I Got My Mind Made Up", Karen Young "Hot Shot" (god this girl had some pipes on her) and Patrick Juvet "I Love America" (which was sampled by Full Intention in the mid - late '90s to great success) and finally, Side four: Voyage "Souvenirs" (a seminal classic if there ever was one), D.C. LaRUE "Hot Jungle Drums and Voo Doo Rhythm", Musique "In the Bush" (Jocelyn Brown and Patric Adams...what a combo "are you ready for this"), Dan Hartman "Instant Replay" and closing things out, Peaches and Herb "Shake Your Groove Thing". What a trip down "Disco" lane.
Now the disclaimer: I am a DJ and do not buy my records as a collector - a lot of times they come from my own collection, other DJs collections, clearance bins, garage sales, thrift stores, etc.... I am a vinyl junkie, but one who plays his records. I will try and be as accurate as possible in my grading. However, if you have any questions, please raise them prior to bidding. I will only charge the actual shipping charge + a handling charge for the supplies - i.e. cardboard boxes and inserts - they are not free when shipping via "media rate" or internationally. Payment, via Paypal only, is due within 3 business days (i.e. Mon - Fri) from the close of auction. Shipping will normally occur within 3 business days of receipt of payment for the item. International shipping is available via USPS First Class International Mail Service.
