Description

Sun 209 by Elvis Presley: That's All Right b/w Blue Moon Of  Kentucky.  Labels see pictures. Detailed condition see above condition section. The playing surface outside of the edge crack is VG++.

This 78 came from a lot of about 150  that recently turned up here in Cleveland, including many shellac promo copies,  and vinyl flexi disc promos. Also there were two old record mailer boxes, as shown in the pictures, addressed to Alan Freed, WJW Radio, Cleveland.  Apparently, these 78s belonged to Alan Freed and WJW, and he played some of them on the air, judging by the finger prints still visible on a few of them. The finger prints haven't been cleaned off, because some collectors may want to have a record that apparently was played by Alan Freed, for it's historical value.

The Peacock Records mailer box is postmarked July 17th, 1954. No date is visible on the Alma Records mailer postmark.  Freed left WJW for New York City, in either August or September of 1954, depending on the internet source. Many of these 78s that will be listed as from the Alan Freed Lot appear to have never been played. He probably never got around to auditioning them to hear if they were airplay worthy, because of his pending departure.

You are bidding on this 78 record only, record mailers not included.
The RECORD MAILER BOXES are NOT FOR SALE,  and are only pictured in  this listing to illustrate the source of the records.

Please listen to the sound clips taken from this record offered for sale.
